When you’re new to owning a pool, it can seem overwhelming when thinking of how to tend to your new swimming hole. However, with a few basic swimming pool maintenance tips you can easily keep your pool beautiful and clean, all year!

The chemical balance in your pool is vital for beautiful and clean water. Thus, keeping your chemical balance in check is important. You can easily test your pool for proper chemical balance with a chemical testing kit. These kits are color coded for easy reading and require very little effort and time to utilize. Depending on what your test shows, you may or may not need to add chemicals to the water. The test will tell you exactly what your pool needs, or doesn’t need.

In addition to maintaining a good chemical balance in your pool, you must remove debris regularly. Your filtration system should do a good job of removing much of the debris. However, you may want to invest in a pool vacuum. Many pool vacuums can be hooked up, submerged onto the bottom of the pool and left to run for a few hours, doing the work for you. You will need to scrub the sides and bottom of your pool with a scrub brush every now and then to remove any possible algae or dirt.

Overall, cleaning your pool can take just minutes each week. Remember, keeping your pool in great condition is part of maintaining your investment. Doing it yourself allows you to save a load of money too!
